RJO Welcome Letter #2

Posted Date: 08/25/26 (09:00 AM)

Dear RJO Families,

Teacher assignments and transportation information will be posted on the Parent Portal on or about August 27th.  On the RJO website you can find the supply lists and welcome letters for the upcoming school year.

RJO will be hosting an Open House on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for students and their families. This informal visit is an opportunity for your child to become familiar with their new school environment. Students may also have the chance to meet their teacher(s) and drop off school supplies.

The first day of school is Thursday, September 3, 2026. School hours are 9:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All students are eligible for bus transportation, regardless of how far they live from the school. Morning arrival begins at 9:05 a.m. and attendance is taken at 9:25 a.m. Students arriving after 9:20 will be marked late. Please note that all student drop-offs must take place at the Main Entrance on Old Dock Road.  A map is attached for your convenience.

For the safety of all students, any changes to your child’s dismissal plan (such as not taking the bus) must be communicated to the Main Office before 2:30 p.m. If you are picking your child up early before dismissal, you must do so before 3:00 p.m at the main entrance. All students must have a signed and dated dismissal note from a parent or guardian on file.

Dismissal begins at 3:30 p.m. each day. If you are picking up your child from the walker line, the Main Office must have a written note on file. Walkers are dismissed at 3:30 p.m. The 4th and 5th Grade Walker Line will exit at the Church Street entrance.  If you are picking your child up as a walker, please park your car and walk to the designated pickup area. An adult must be present for a child to be released. A map is attached for your reference.

For any questions or requests, please contact the main office.

We look forward to a great start to the school year!
